THE SONG OF TENDER AGE

Md. Abdul Mannan Yaqubi
                  .........

We, the tender age are
Ever forcible,
Though litte, we are not
Trifling at all.
We can shudder the land of Bengal-
We, the tender age, are ever forcible.

We remove darkness
With the light of truth,
Which will make the way of
People's life smooth.
We sing moral songs to awake people,
We, the tender age, are ever forcible.

With the knowledge of science, :
Technology and invention,
We'll uphold the glory
Of the nation.
We must bring development in Bengal,
We, the tender age, are ever forcible.

We'll hoist the flag
Of victory proudly
And will help the people
To live happily.
We are in the bloom to give fruits to all,
We, the tender age, are ever forcible.

        MD. Abdul Mannan Yaqubi

You are the best gift of God, o mother!

  Your green beauty looks excellent
  And you are soft hearted;
  Your meditation and affection
  Are also exalted,
And we will keep your glory and
  Status high forever -
You are the best gift of God, o mother!

All are curious for enjoying your
 Ever green sight,
The light of the sun and the moon
 Makes your beauty more bright.
 Thus you become too attractive
To all to forget ever -
You are the best gift of God,o mother!

O mother, your sky is generous
 And vast your fields are,
And your fields of green paddy
 excellently wave with air.
And the melodious songs of birds
In your trees we hear-
You are the best gift of God, o mother!

 O mother, your sweet tongue
 Satisfies all and you always,
Keep vast wealth with you to offer us
 With your smiling face.
And your endless resources make us
 Rich and happier-
You are the best gift of God, o mother!

You preserve your wealth in land
 And water affluently,
And keep them quite open for all
 To get very easily.
During six seasons, all your wealths
 You generously offer-
You are the best gift of God, o, mother!

 Your seasons are very excellent
 And magnanimous,
Thy are also full of corns, flowers And fruits delicious.
So, the gentle breeze spreads their
Sweet flavour everywhere
You are the best gift of God, o mother!

 With your contribution,
And we promise to uphold your

POSITION OF WOMEN

POSITION OF WOMEN

Md. Abdul Mannan Yaqubi

Women stand for affection
Tenderness and inspiration,
They boast of maternity, rearing
and drawing the attraction.
Who can say, they are not in veneration?

Modern women are in and out
Of the house for progression,
And they are worthy of singing
Dancing and beautification.
Are  they, yet, lower in position?

Women are in job, in advertisement,
And in recreation.
They're also needed for reception and
Farewell in any  function.
Do they need any more for satisfaction?

Now they share weal and woe with
Men without making any division,
And remain with men during sleep,
Awakening, dream and so on.
Can anyone say, they are in prison?

Women are seen in the court of
Justice, war field and invasion,
Business and commerce are also
Ran under their supervision.
Are they trifling in the world in position?

Women are now skilled in nursing,
Surgery and education,
They are also in expedition, research
And administration
Haven't they, in all respects, contribution?

( SONNET )

      Md. Abdul Mannan Yaqubi

It is the charming place which is restless,
With hills, forests, rivers, shores, lakes and routs,
It abounds with beasts, bird, flowers corps and fruits.
None saw near the ocean such a place as
Ever green that offers diamond always.

Its blue sky looks very charming all about,
And nature is generous out and out,
So, everyone can enjoy here happy days.

The famous twelve saints came to take rest here,
To preach religion  , they chose this land.
It's, as the gate of Bengal, known world over.
And hearing its name, mind is filled with cheer,
This name in Bengal is ever boautiful and
It is Chattogram I mostly favour.

TO THE PROCLAIMER OF INDEPENDENCE

      Md.Abdul Maannan Yaqubi

O the proclaimer of independence of the country,
By your heroic proclamation of independence,
People awoke with a revolutionary consciences,
And all the young rushed at the enemies all and sundry.
Seeing their crucial attack the Pak-ruler became dreary,
Even most of their leaders were about to loose their sense;
Their soldiers also couldn't stand up to their resistance,
For, the young of Bengal fought like tigers for victory.

The timid Pak-soldiers tried to run for safety like deer,
But did not find any forest in this Bengal to hide,
So, they surrender to the tigers of Bengal with fear,
And thus, the nation achieved independence forever.
You were also a perfect leader and the nation's pride,
That is why, you could win immorality  with honour.

THE SUMMER IN BENGAL

      Md. Abdul Mannan Yaqubi

The horizon is fiercely heated by,
The laughing sun that reigns in the vast sky.

The vast field in the sun looks deserted
And the houses are estreamly heated.

Gangers, beasts and birds afflicting with thirst,
Feel a burning sensation in the hrart.

Canals, lakes, ponds and the soil everywhere,
Cry and pray only for getting water.

The sun becomes too hot for men to bear,
So, they sit under the tree to take air.

The crops in the fields burn into ashes,
And it leads all the farmres to distress.

The fatal diseases bresk out open
And cause suffering and dead to men.

During drought men offer to God something,
And also pray to God for rain's coming.

Sometime in Bengal, the wild nor wester,
Comes and dances with destructive  power.

With his whimsical dance, he damages,
Crops, trees, forests and the  old cottages.

All decrepit things are vanished away,
From the surface of the earth by his play.

He wears black Sari for dance macabre,
And it covers the bright light of nature.

He plays with lightning and thunder mirthly.
And takes away some fresh lived suddenly.

Like a rebellious man he takes the lead,
And makes the old youth to move in full speed.

Thus the new rouse with new insfiration,
And decorate the country and nation.

Folk songs are sung in the village at night,
And women gossip in yards at moonlight.

The open places after the evening,
Remain busy with people's gossiping.

The fair and restlimg are helld everywhere
And traders open their fresh accounts with cheer.

In the village, kite in the blu sky fly,
And their different colour ornate the sky.

Sonalu, juni, krishnachura, beli,
And casalpinia bloom so nicely.

Sweet fruits are hanged in trees in the orchards,
And they are bustled with the song of birds.

Mangoes, jackfruit, lichi and the melon
Make body and mind cool in this season.

The summer comes as a gift in Bengal,
Though its heat is, to us, unbearable.

THE RAINY SEASON IN BENGAL

        Md. Abdul Mannan Yaqubi

                       ............

Watching the land of Bengal

           Afflicted with thirst,

The clouds get their tender hearts

             Seriously hurt.

So, like the black rafts they float

             Across the vast sky,

And cover the face of the sun

              That lies so high.

Then they accompany the rebel

             Dance of lightning,

And start beating their drums to make

              The sound rumbling.

Strokes fly for unknown destination

              Through dark clouds,

As though they got some informations

                From true source.

The melody of the dance of rain

                Is charming,

And it looks like the fairy dance with

                  Tinkling ring.

The land gets pulsation of life

                  And purity,

And the nature of Bengal gets

                 Youth and beauty.

The awaking trees, plants and

            Grasses seem festive,

And they turn into deep green

             That looks attractive.

Heap of water in the river

              Sounds murmuring,

And the buzzing sound of

               Crooking is resounding.

Distending the tail feathers

              Peacocks dance nicely,

That seems to receive

               The rainy season warmly.

Boats, lunch, canoes and rafts

           Are used to cross water,

And thus Business activities

           Become easier.

Kadam, Kumud and the lotus

            Bloom everywhere,

And they add to the beauty of

             Bengal's nature.

Hasnahena,, tube roses

         And the Chamely,

Make the way and the waiting

          Room scented sweetly.

Varieties of flowers bloom

           In Bengal nicely,

And lakes and ponds are

           Attracted with the lily.

The Aush paddy is harvested

             By the farmer,

And then the Amon plants are

             Transplanted with cheer.

The rain gifts Bengal varieties

              Of fish species

Which, during this season, people

               Day and night fish.

Hog-palms, lemons, bananas

       Guavas and pineapple,

Make people's tongue juicy

         In the land of Bengal.

Bindweed, arum, Putishak

           Okra, and egg plants are,

During rainy season,

             Got everywhere.

The devastating flood by

           Excessive rainfall,

Is, of course, a curse to all

          The marooned people.

The old huts and the fields

          Of poor farmers,

Are often damaged by rain and

             The flood water.

At times, men, women and

           Children day and night,

Are died by Lightning and

           The poisonous snake  bite.

The suffering of man and

            Animal goes on,

And various fatal diseases

             Break out soon.

Hearths that absorb water are

            Useless for  cooking,

And it brings to the poor

            A great suffering.

During the rain it seems that

           Dearth prevails all o'er,

And everyone doesn't s seem

           To be in his humour.

The rain makes the people

           In Bengal home bounding,

And everyone avers to go

           Outside for working.

To pass time, men in the house

          Watch TV or sing,

But the poor remain anxious for

            Their existing.

Village girls in the house

        During their intervals,

Like to sew the designed quilt

        With threads and needles,

Children in all houses like to

         Play on the floor,

And to run in the rain they enjoy

         More and more.

Someone thinks deeply for her

        Or his nearest one,

But the rain in single life

         Creates more tension.

The poets write poems getting

          Close relation-

With the charming beauty of

           The rainy season.

A good arrangement of beauty

             And suffering,

Is contributed to Bengal by

              The rain's wailing.

To stop its wailing with a spring

                 Of tears quickly.

The eastern sky starts beating

                   Its drums suddenly.

The wailing of rain is thus stopped

             Soon at that sound,

And then the wealth over floods

              Bengal all around.

WINTER IN BENGAL

   Md. Abdul Mannan Yaqubi
                        .......

Nature loses her blooming                     Youth In the Winter,
Forests and bushes put on
                The yellow colour.

During this season, dullness
              prevails everywhere,
And the tune of anxiety is
                Played in nature.

The biting cold starts arriving     With the northern breeze.,
And causes death to leaves       To fall down from the trees.

All the bare trees like sentries
            Remain still standing,
And the  nature in Bengal
            Seems stoics looking.

The winter season makes
           Human life quite restless
And men pass their important
           Time in idleness.

The brooks in the winter lose
     Their restlessness fully,
So, they seem to be the old
        And useless only.

The sun rises like a red plate
            In the morning,
And to receive him, the people
             Remain waiting.

Swarms of bees fly for honey from
             The mustard flower,
And the villagers warm their body
             Sitting by fire.

Opening  wings in the sun, birds
          Bask and start singing
And in winter, they physically
           Looks charming.

The winter offers us a lot of
          Delicious foods,
And one of the sweetest foods
          Of them is date juice.

Village farmers work in the field
             In biting cold,
And all the housewives remain busy
              With the household.

Fields are full of different
       Vegetable species,
And variety of fishes are
       caught in the ditch.

Plum, orange, Kamranga, Lemon
          Hog plum and Bel
In this season in Bengal
           Are available.

Roses, marigolds, Dahlias and
          Sunflowers are
The great charm of the morning
          During the winter.

The winter hums the poor and
        Esteems the rich highly,
Whereas,the poor men exalt
         The winter only

PRIDE OF OVEN

Md. Abdul Msnnan Yaqubi

I have been burning
     Since my birth,
And save human being
      On the earth.

If I don't burn,
       Man starts wailing,
And their downfall
       Is ensuing.

People being struck
     By starvation,
Ask me humbly when
       l will burn.

Sometimes human works
       Brings failure,
But my triumph remains
        Ever sure.

THE SPRING IN BENGAL

THE THE THE SPRING IN BENGAL

Md. Abdul Mannan Yaqubi

                     ...........

Trees are in flowers and

       Bees are humming,

And birds thrilled with joy

         Continue chirping.

Cooing constantly

       Goes on in Bengal,

And this sweet song

       Attracts all the people.

Air with the smell of flowers

         Blows everywhere,ক

And mango trees in buds

          look granular.

Now hawk cuckoos and

        Magpies sing sweetly,

And the bird ' Bou Katha kow'

          Sounds loudly.

Today nature wears

     Very beautifully,

And all are charmed with

      Tune, and hue highly.

The spring has driven

       Away the cold air,

And blooming flowers

        Beautify nature.

Roses, Dalias, tube roses

        And Maloties,

Bloom everywhere with their

         Respective beauties.

The Krishnachuras giving

        Spirited flash,

Stand for the blood of

        Achieving Bangladesh.

The sight of nature

        Fascinates people,

And everyone are very

          Cheerful in Bengal.

Now people are not

      In fear of winter,

They are highly

      Boisterous everywhere.

Today dullness from nature

         Has gone by,

And bare trees hoist victory

        Flags in the sky.

Now, the face of Bengal is

           out of vile,

For, the Spring has given it

             A happy smile.

               ........

,

REIGN OF INHUMANITY

Md. Abdul Mannan Yaqubi
             .........

The world, at present, can't
       Take pride in humanity,
Because of people's aggressive
         Manners of cruelty.

All, being selfish, are busy for
         Self interest always,
And never think of those persons
            Who are the helpless.

Now man and woman avers
          To religious practice,
And keep themselves engaged
            In sinful activities.

People being irreligious
      Have invited cruelty,
So, inhumanity reigns
        The present society.

                    ........

WOMAN' S QUESTION

       Md. Abdul Mannan Yaqubi
                        ........

I pass my life inner the room only,
And make the unknown my own easily.
I illumine the house of other always,
And keep man joyful with my services.
I am not comparable to animal,
As my heart is full of affection for all.
Man gets strength by my inspiration,
That makes him successful in his mission.
My stars adorn his vast sky beautifully,
And my rain gives life to his land newly.
With love and devotion I make him great,
Despite of these, I never get respect.
                        ...........

GREATNESS

       Md. Abdul Mannan Yaqubi

Burning heart into ashes, the woman,
Always keep enlightened the house of man.

She maintains his family sincerely,
And brings the tide of joy in it daily.
She hardly gets due respect in return,
Yet, she upholds the position of man.
                 ........
