THE AUTUMN IN BENGAL
Md Abdul Mannan Yaqubi
Nature turns deep green
In the Autumn in Bengal,
And gives peace and pleasure
To the mind of people.
The incessant cry of the sky
Is desisted,
And the farmer's fields With crops
Are over flooded.
The mass of white clouds play
Hide and seek with the light,
And they continue it in the sky
Day and night.
The glittering of the golden
Rays of the sun,
And the bright light of the moon
Bring satisfaction.
Green paddy plants in the vast
Field of horizon,
Rise wave with the blowing air
with instigation.
The blowing air in Autumn,
Makes trees and grasses,
Dance very attractively
In Bengal always.
During this season air is free
From heat and dust.
And sufferings and sorrows
Do not afflict heart.
The light fog covers the nature
In the morning,
And the dew drops on the grasses
Remain sitting.
In the morning dews sparkle
With the rays of sun,
And the field covered with grass
Looks a pearl's ocean.
The stars in the sky is not
More beautiful,
Than the blooming lilies on
Water in Bengal.
The buds of the bindweeds rise
With veil from the cluster,
And they look shameful with
charming violet colour.
Flowers like Jesmin, Togor,
And the Shefali,
Bloom in the garden of
Bengal beautifully.
Keya and Bakul bloom in both
Gardens and forests,
And night is passed with smell
That the Kamini spreads.
The blooming Kashes look fairies
For white colour,
And they attract all when they
Dance beside rivers.
They dance whole heatedly with
The blowing of air,
And the meditated white herons
Standstill near.
Rustic girls in the morning
Go to the gardens,
And plucking flowers they make
Beautiful garlands.
Kamranga, hog plum, palm Guava,
Wood apple and so on,
We get more and more in Bengal
In this season.
Rising waves, boats float on
Water of the rivers,
And fishers from canoes throw
Nets into water.
Flamingoes, teals and wag tails
In sea shore gather,
And they continue gathering and
Fighting there.
The forests are always bustled
With bird's chirping,
And the nature is very peaceful
And charming.
The Autumn's charm is supreme
In comparison,
So, in Bengal, it's called the queen
Of the season.
